Our clients acquired this very dilapidated Grade II listed building in Bishop Auckland and briefed us to restore the building and convert the upper floors into self contained flats. Working closely with Wear Valley District Council and Durham County Council we prepared a scheme which was granted listed building consent and accepted for grant assistance. The construction was undertaken by a contractor selected by the client and we worked with him to deliver a successfully completed project, despite some considerable difficulties posed by the severely decayed condition of the original building.

The quality of the completed building was rewarded by a commendation in the Durham County Council Environment Award Scheme.
