conversion of outbuildings, grade 1 listed castle building, northumberland
Over a number of years, we produced designs for the conversion of outbuildings to eight bedrooms, the development of the lodge to take two further bedrooms, a new wing of eight bedrooms in the grounds, an extension to take ancillary accommodation for the kitchen, the redevelopment of the top of the south west tower to form an additional bedroom within the castle, and the refurbishment and enlargement of three other rooms within the castle. We also restored the private chapel at the top of the south east tower. Langley Castle is a grade I listed building dating from the 1300s. Close liaison with the conversation officers at Tynedale District Council and with English Heritage was required.
